Post office renamed for ‘man of character’

WASHINGTON – Legislation to rename the Lansingburgh Post Office in honor of Martin G. “Marty” Mahar was passed yesterday by the U.S. Senate. Mahar, a decorated World War II veteran and community leader, worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1955 to 1983 and passed away in 2007.
