Since the locker solution was deployed in Norway, the company’s data has pointed out that one of the main elements that customers valued about the parcel network was that they don’t have to travel far to pick up parcels. The postal service credits this success to the use of SwipBox’s Infinity lockers. In January 2020, the first Infinity lockers in Posten Norge’s parcel locker network, called Pakkeboks, were installed. Now the nationwide network amounts to around 3,000 lockers. Posten Norge was able to scale up its network this quickly because these lockers run on batteries, don’t use wi-fi and take approximately 5 minutes to install. The authorization system for these lockers also emphasizes convenience by operating through customers’ smartphones rather than via a PIN.
