Royal Mail is recruiting for Christmas workers in Wales – and this is how much they’re paying

Royal Mail is currently hiring Christmas casual workers as it gears up for the busiest time of the year.

And if you’re hoping to earn some extra cash ahead of the festive season, this may be the way to do it. There are a number of roles available based out of Cardiff and Llanishen.

Christmas casuals wanted in Cardiff and Llanishen

Royal Mail is looking to take on a number of extra casuals across the festive season.

Extra staff are needed at their Cardiff Mail Centre on Penarth Road and at their South West Parcel Sorting Centre, based in Llanishen.

And bosses say no previous experience is needed, so anyone can apply.

The roles pay between £8.72 and £9.40 per hour and applicants are welcome to apply for a shift that suits their lifestyle, including earlies, days or nights.

What are they looking for?

The company says it’s looking for flexible and adaptable workers who can help them unload mail and parcels from its vans, move them around warehouses and sort post so it arrives at its destination safely.

According to the advert, successful applicants should:

  • Enjoy working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Be proactive and detailed focused
  • Flexible and adaptable to work on various tasks during a shift
  • Able to push trolleys (up to 250kgs) and lift and move mail bags up to 11kg
  • Be comfortable standing for long periods

Those with experience in warehouse or sorting work, with the likes of Amazon or another distribution company, are encouraged to apply.
