Royal Mail last posting and delivery dates for Christmas 2020

Royal Mail has released its last posting dates for Christmas this year.

The combination of greatly increased uptake of online Christmas shopping, in no small part driven by the recent lockdown, and the ongoing covid restrictions mean that all delivery companies are experiencing exceptionally high volumes this year.

This has caused some Royal Mail customers to experience slightly longer delivery timescales than the usual service standards.

In order to get your gifts and letters in time for Christmas, the Royal Mail is urging Brits to not leave their post till last minute.

Latest Recommended Posting Dates

  • Friday 18 December – 2nd Class and 2nd Class Signed For
  • Monday 21 December- 1st Class and 1st Class Signed For and Royal Mail Tracked 48*
  • Tuesday 22 December – Royal Mail Tracked 24*
  • Wednesday 23 December- Special Delivery Guaranteed

Royal Mail said: “Please post items and gifts for Christmas early, particularly for International deliveries.

“Ongoing Covid restrictions, reduced air and freight capacity, high volumes and winter weather conditions are all impacting transportation and local delivery across the globe.”
