Royal Mail text scam claims you’ve won an iPhone 11

PEOPLE in Oxfordshire have been warned about a scam text pretending to be from Royal Mail saying they have won a new iPhone11.

Thames Valley Police posted a warning about the con online today, stating: “The seasonal scam message reads: ‘You took one of the spots on our Currys XMAS-list.'”

When users click a link in the text, they are redirected to a website with the heading of Currys/PC World, which asks them to enter personal details, pay a £2 fee for shipping, and that the device would be delivered within five working days.

The alert said Royal Mail was investigating the message.
