Royal Mail to look at changing how mail is delivered to the IoM

Thursday, May 18th, 2023 11:48am

Royal Mail is looking at changing the way mail is delivered to the Isle of Man.

That’s according to a consultation document which outlines a number of proposed changes to services.

Isle of Man Post Office is working with the mail carrier to explore the implications of bringing mail over from the UK by ferry rather than plane.

It’s due to the declining volume of letters and would reduce costs and the impact on the environment.

The consultation also includes a proposed change to the definition of ‘due date,’ to allow for additional working days for sending and receiving mail to and from the Island.
