Royal Mail warns 28 UK postcodes won’t receive post on time — full list

A number of areas across the UK will see their mail delayed

Royal Mail has issued a delay warning to certain UK postcodes today. The delivery firm has revealed some parts of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland won’t receive their letters or parcels on time.

Its air and road network ran to schedule over the weekend, yet there is delays in certain delivery offices. Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”

It added: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

Royal Mail updates its customers on the most impacted offices. As of Monday, March 9, 14 offices are experiencing delays.

Areas impacted include Glasgow, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Pontyclun.

The delays come as Royal Mail announced it is increasing the price of stamps from next month.

The cost of a first class stamp will increase by 10p to £1.80, while a second class stamp will go up by 4p to 91p.

The price of a first class stamp was just 64p in 2016 – meaning it will have increased by 181% in the past 10 years.

Royal Mail said the increases are down to the rising cost of delivery as letter volumes fell and the number of addresses increased.

However, it is facing increased scrutiny over not delivering mail on time. The last time Royal Mail met its annual target for delivering first-class post on time was in 2019-20.
