Spalding man has started up Photobooth business

A Spalding postman focused on his photography hobby to create a business capturing the most treasured moments in life.

Whether you’re celebrating a big birthday or entertaining wedding guests, photo booths have risen in popularity over the past few years.

Mark Goodale, of Spalding Photo Booth Hire, set up the business in 2018 after deciding to transform his passion for photography into a successful business.

Through the use of state of the art equipment, including green screens and an SLR camera, Mark has built up a business offering a full package to those in search of a good time.

He said: “I actually bought the booth on a bit of a whim – and it wasn’t cheap – but I’ve always been into photography.

“I used to take photos of stock cars when I was younger and I’ve taken photos of football games too.

“This is a bit different but I use my knowledge and experience and I understand the important of good lighting and proper, quality equipment.”

Mark, who is usually joined by his daughter, Spalding Grammar School student Alex (16) jobs, says that customers benefit from a more than just a photo booth as part of the packages the business offfers.

Mark, who has been working as a postman for the past six years as his day job, said: “We offer the photo booth with green screens for backgrounds, immersive green screens which can have a background and foreground and lots of props plus a candy cart, four foot tall ‘love’ letters and an old Royal Mail postbox for people to post their cards in.

“From getting into the booth and the photos being printed it takes 90 seconds so it’s really quick and I try to keep lines moving along so everyone can make the most of it.

“I think we are pretty fairly priced – I’ve noticed that a lot of people hear the wedding and see pound signs in their eyes, but I’m not about ripping people off and I appreciate the costs of putting on a party.

“We just want people to enjoy our services and want to make sure that people are happy with our work.”

At the beginning of 2020, Mark’s diary was looking busy but, as COVID hit, the stark reality became apparent.

He said: “This year has been very tough and there’s been lots of people looking for refunds or changing their wedding dates multiple times.

“We have done a wedding recently. It was very different but we are able to make everything COVID safe.”
