This week’s Royal Mail strikes called off

Six days of planned strikes by CWU members working for the Royal Mail have been called off after a challenge by the company. The union said that after a letter from Royal Mail’s legal team, it has decided to withdraw industrial action notices for the next two weeks. Strikes will resume on Saturday 12 November.

The planned action on 2, 3 and 4 November would have had an impact on the collection and delivery of ballot papers for our ongoing national ballot, which closes on 7 November and by law must be a postal ballot.

We had previously recommended that if you haven’t yet voted, you should post your ballot paper by 31 October. You should still post as soon as possible but can now continue to send ballot papers this week.

The closing date of our ballot is Monday 7 November.
