DB Schenker expands presence in Spain

European logistics giant DB Schenker has further established itself in Spain with the acquisition of Grupo Loserco and Transportes Santos Campos. The firms are major players in the road freight sector in Andalusia and Valencia.

Adding both companies to its portfolio, DB Schenker will now have seven more centres in Spain with 150 new staff who join more than 74,200 worldwide.

“These acquisitions represent a major step for our company and strengthen our global network,” says Helmut Schweighofer, CEO of DB Schenker in Europe. “Moreover, they will enable us to expand the value we can offer in the region by providing broader and more comprehensive services. We are thus demonstrating our claim to leadership at a challenging time for the logistics sector and for our customers.”

Cyrille Bonjean, Executive Vice President Land Transport at DB Schenker in Europe, adds the following: “The integration of these companies in Spain marks the first step in a stage of growth and geographical expansion that we anticipate will be very prosperous and full of opportunities for DB Schenker and our team.”
