DPDgroup handled 12.2m parcels on Cyber Monday

On Cyber Monday (29 November) DPDgroup handled 12.2 million parcels, its largest daily volume on record. This amounts to 60% more than its average daily volumes.

The La Groupe La Poste owned international carrier saw volume growth slow at the beginning of the second quarter of the year, though volumes remain far higher than they were pre-pandemic.

Volume growth across its territories was uneven. The Czech Republic saw volume growth of 57%, while in France this was just 12% through Chronopost. Brazil however saw a 50% growth as against Cyber Monday 2020. DPDgroup report good service performance thanks to being prepared for the volume spike.

Looking forward, DPDgroup expect to handle more than 350 million parcels through the peak season. The carrier is one of the biggest players in terms of B2C parcel deliveries in Europe and has managed the strong growth in volumes through the global pandemic well.
